Flexible and Fashionable: the Humble Pashmina
Pashminas are very useful for all types of occasions since they’re easy to put in your shoulder bag if you get too hot. The wool of the pashmina keeps out the cold very effectively, so rather than dragging around a large coat on a chilly summer or spring evening, a shawl will suffice as a useful outer garment.
Shawls have recently become really stylish as a fashion accessory/apparel at marriage ceremonies. The last few summers in the UK have been rather awful, so maybe this has promoted this new movement. Cream-coloured pashminas, as well as white and gold are fashionable selections for marriage ceremonies, and look amazing if all the maids of honor have matching colour pashminas.
With a larger shawl, it can also transform into a handy blanket for arduous trips. And of course, a shawl can turn into a scarf for the winter too.
There tends to be two types of shawl - the the 70% pashmina / 30% silk pashmina, and the pure pashmina variety. The mixed pashmina you can buy at lower prices than the pure pashmina wool counterpart, but it will be less warm. It’s your choice as to how you want to wear your pashmina shawl. Is it purely a fashion item, or also apparel to keep out the cold too? I recommend 100% pashmina shawls to keep out the cold.
